High quality, independent living
Our flats are well appointed and maintained. Each flat has a living room, one or two bedrooms and a bath or shower room. Half of the flats are on the ground floor. A large walled garden offers tranquility for private reflection and neighbourly conversations.
There is a hall for social activities, a laundry room, hair-dressing salon and a flat for guests. No personal, medical or nursing care is provided by the Charterhouse but a warden is on duty, visiting residents each morning. A caretaker sees to routine maintenance and occasional tasks.
A weekly maintenance charge of between £92.50 to £105.00 is payable according to the size of flat. Additionally there is a service charge made of £25.00 per week. Our charges are eligible for government support through the Local Authority.

Tucked away near Wincolmlee and only a few minutes’ walk from Hull’s city centre. The Charterhouse is a complex of high quality flats, offering modern-day living amid six centuries of history.
The Charterhouse accommodates up to 40 residents, a mix of single people and couples leading independent lives with the added comfort of support from our staff whenever needed.
There are few conditions of occupancy. You should be aged 60 or over and in need of the type of housing that we provide. You are likely to be currently living in rented accommodation and you may be entitled to Local Housing Allowance.
